After Cleena’s death it was very empty at home, it was hard to bear. Already 2 days later I called the Erath’s (Green Ireland), but unfortunately all puppies were taken. But they told us to come next Sunday, we would see what can be done.

We were asked, if we would be prepared to take a 2yr old. No problem for us, of course. They had at that time 3 bitches for breeding, and as there will be one, exceptionally 2 litters per year only, this 2 year old, Iduna would have had to wait 3 years for her turn. So he offered us Iduna, but he said to us only, nobody else.

2 weeks later Iduna was with us. From the beginning she was fixed on me, it took her a bit longer to accept my husband.

A little side story, it showed that Iduna and I were destined to meet:

Iduna was born into a litter of 10. When those puppies were about 10 weeks old, I was visiting the Erath’s, still had Cleena then. Rémy showed me the rascals playing in the grass. After a moment of watching he asked me which one I would keep for myself. I pointed at a lighter little bitch, that had turned the others on to fight and then sneaked back to watch the doings from her elevated position. Rémy said, good choice, but this one I’ll keep for myself.

Years later speaking about the incident, we found out, that it had been Iduna, I had chosen then.
